My true weakness.

I need to make a confession. This might cause me to sound...superficial. or shallow. or just plain honest!

Everyone has a weakness. Mine happens to be quality reality shows. This is a severe weakness. They are as follows:

-Real Housewives of NY

-Real Housewives of NJ

-Real Housewives DC

-Real Housewives of OC

-Real Housewives of BH

-Guilliana and Bill

-Tori and Dean

-Rachel Zoe

-The Kardashians

-19 Kids and Counting

-Thintervention

I think I have a real (housewives) problem.

Now there are other shows I do enjoy from time to time but these are the ones I seem to be completely and utterly loyal to. I know that I probably shouldn't 'enjoy' watching these shows, because, let's be honest, they're not all the most appropriate shows. And I don't encourage it. But sometimes I just cannot help it! If its on, I'll watch it. And if its recorded, I'll watch it. Oh dear. I'll just watch it.

Does anyone else have a similar weakness? Or is it just me?!

On another note, there might be a tutorial coming up on here sometime in the near future!

Enjoy the Saturday! Go Rangers game 3!

stain, stain everywhere.

Today. I stained.

Stained canvases.

So much that I got it all over my hands.

Look at how messy I am, gosh. I justify it by saying I like to stain with a messy-ness. The yellow looking one on the right is actually a gold spray paint base that I will stain over. We'll see how that one goes. Oh and I have some really neat new ideas! I'll show them to you in the near future. These are about half of what I have right now.

Some will be gifts, some will go to a craft show, some will be in my Etsy shop. My Etsy shop that doesn't exist just yet, but once I have a few things to sell, I'll let you know!

And don't worry Kelci, these won't be exactly like yours, just similar!

I hope everyone is enjoying there thursday evening. As for me, I'm headed back outside to this!

Little Miss Momma - new blog love

I just want to stop by, to say three things.

1) Hello! Hi! How ya doin?

2) Go Rangers!!! I am vividly watching the World Series. Win or (lose) I will love them. Especially David Murphy.

3) As I was desperately trying to multi-task and catch up with my Google Reader, I came across this blog I had seen months ago and forgot about somehow. Little Miss Momma is a mom and a blogger who sells GORGEOUS rings at her Etsy shop. I am loving her blog AND her merch at her shop. So much that I might have to purchase something one day. Wait did I just say that? Uh I most certainly did.

I even followed her blog. And if you know me, you know I don't 'follow' someone's blog with ease. My best friend Mer actually had to convince me to follow her own blog and that its not a crazy idea to do so. Sorry about that mer.

Little Miss Momma is actually having a giveaway contest right now over at Tatertots and Jello's blog. So go check it out!!!

Google Reader, you will be the death of me.

consequences of a two week hiatus

Oh my, how I have missed this part of my life. Isn't it sad that this is a 'part' of my life. No? No I know its totally acceptable. I have had a major two week hiatus from blogging and even taking peeks at my Google Reader. And if anyone knows what that is (I spoke of it last week I believe) you KNOW that its a good idea to keep up with it. I resisted temptation and worked hard on my things for The Peach Room instead.

Last night, I wanted to catch up on it really badly since we were done with our very first craft fair this past weekend. I pull up the site, and it reads, in all seriousness, that I have 741 new blog posts to read.

Um. No thank you, I thought at first. 'but loren, you are dedicated to these blogs. they're not just posts, they're real people who sit down and take time to share their life with you (and a million other people). So you better scan through them!' So I did.

I spent probably and a good hour and a half last night, and got through half of them. HALF. So tonight, after TENNIS TUESDAY, I will have at it again.

I'm a determined person, at least when it comes to trivial things. trivial but meaningful. right?

Anyways, I added a new song to the blog for this week. Its Josh Wilson's Savior, Please. Josh is actually an orginal Lubbockian. Lubbock-ite? He's from Lubbock, TX. There.

Being a proud Red Raider and supporter of Lubbock, its neat. But you know, I actually heard his other song on the radio the other day here in Dallas. Its called Before the Morning. So good. Anyway, if you don't feel like reading this post, please feel free to at least listen to his song that is currently playing (unless you clicked on a different song, or muted your volume because you're sick and tired of hearing my playlist whenever you come over here). Speaking of sick and tired, friend, if you don't like the newly added playlist to my blog, please let me know! I will not be offended at all, I need the feedback.

Alright, sometimes I get tired of posting a post with just my blabbing on and on, so I will end with a hilarious moment that happened a few weeks ago....

I walked upstairs to find this.

My grandparents came to visit for a couple of days.
My nieces happened to be visiting us as well. In turn, they had new adults to play with. And they are serious play-ers, my nieces.

Hi MaMaw!

My oldest niece is a pro at 'role-playing'. Also meaning she always ends up being the adult, or sometimes, the daddy.

How precious is this child.

Preface: the following pictures are a few of her overly dramatic faces that go along with some serious dialogue.

Also: In order to be appropriate and the fact that she isn't clothed (sometimes we just can't keep clothes on) I took the liberty to crop my pictures and so sorry for the poor quality.

This is her thinking of her response to my mom (right side of the house). 'uhh. umm...'

I'm quite honestly not sure what that face was for.

Responding to MaMaw (left side of the house).

My mom: Well we need to go to the grocery store. Can we do that?
Her: NO. You cannot leave the house baby. It's raining outside really bad.

My mom: But I want to. How about we go to church.
Her: No, I'm so sorry sweetie but we cannot do that. We can't go to church, its too far away.

My mom: Well how about we go to school, it's time to go to school.
Her: NO. I'm so sorry baby but we don't have school today. You need to stay inside the house. You cannot.

My mom: Well can we play 'outside'?
Her: No sweetie, there are a lot of mosquitos outside. Just stay in the house.

(I'm glad no one made me go into the house)

After I said, 'hey make a silly face'.

She's either getting in trouble or my mom was saying, 'we're really tired though, we need to get out of the house, we're too old.'

um. I think this is either a whiney face or she's saying 'no you can't leave grandma'.

---------------------------------------------------------------

That's all for today.

It is now time for Tennis Tuesday. AKA me making a fool of myself while attempting to get better.

My super secret small project

Do you remember this post?

Well, forever ago, I made something for a friend, a gift, and just now had the chance to give it to her. Since we live about 5 hours apart, I couldn't ship this to her. I just didn't have the heart to potentially damage it.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of it finally finished!

This is a piece from My Beloved by Kari Jobe. Love her lyrics.

This one is mildly different in color. Its fine.

Is it bad that I severely enjoy what I made. I didn't keep it but I can enjoy it.

Would you like to have something like this? I might be making a few for this weekend to sell at the Marquette Craft Day. I can always do something custom!

Okay, that was a good break. But now its time to get back to conquering my inability to use a sewing machine! Wish me luck!

The Peach Room - Showcase

After many injured fingers, lost (and found) needles, personal conversations with the sewing machine, 16,000 trips to hobby lobby, almost buying 9 yards of fabric when we needed 3, we are done. Until next weekend.

Yesterday was amazing. Our business, The Peach Room, had its showcase yesterday afternoon and we had a great turnout. A huge thanks to all of those who came out to see us, thank you for the support!

Here are my two dear friends and I (creators of The Peach Room) showing you a few things we make!

Also, wishing terribly that I had taken a picture, I want to thank the Little Miss Cupcake Company for providing her amazing cupcakes for the event. They were incredible. Please check out her facebook page here!

-----------------------------------------------

I have neglected the urge to blog for over a week to keep making more products. Along with that, I neglected my Google Reader which now has 304 new posts for me to catch up on. If anyone knows what that is, you know that 304 is a lot. So I've taken the liberty to put it off one more day.

This NEXT WEEKEND, The Peach Room will be at the Marquette arts and craft day at Marcus High school on Saturday October 23rd from 9am-4pm. I haven't been there but its their second annual craft day. And from the map of booths, there will be plenty to see! Its going to be amazing so if you're in town, you should check it out and come say hi to us at our booth! We would love to see you.

Also, I try to add a new song to the blog every week or so. Just to pep things up. Today I am adding Your Hands by JJ Heller. Meredith introduced me to this artist, though I completely knew this song when I heard it, but her other tracks are amazing and so uplifting.
All this to say, I hope you like the new song this week.

This week will be a repeat of last week, but with more time management. If you're my friend and I don't see you, I'm sorry. I'll probably be doing one of the following; trial and error sewing, hot gluing, at hobby lobby, talking to myself, talking to myself at hobby lobby, or waiting for you to bring me a sonic drink. The last is just a hint, but probably won't happen, unless you want it to. :)

So, sadly this means blogging will happen on a later date, but don't fret. I will have so many products and pictures for you to see. Actually I lied about the blogging. I will blog one more time (probably tomorrow) and show to you my super secret project that isn't a secret anymore!

See you tomorrow!

My weekened apologies.

I realize I said I would show you some of the products for The Peach Room this weekend. But the weekend seemed to catch up to me. And since we are having our Showcase event this coming weekend, I am frantically trying to finish all of my things! Therefore, I will stop right now to say 'I'm sorry'. I'm sure none of you are too upset about it, I just feel bad saying one thing and doing another.

I will say this though, my seam-ripper has become my new best friend.

If that isn't explanation enough, amongst the insanity that is squished into my bedroom, I am the farthest thing from an experienced sewer. Its really touch and go at times, maybe even lost in the midst of broken needles and sewing rage (similar to road rage). But it's coming along.

With all of that said, please don't leave me forever, don't go too far, I'll be back really soon!

I promise.

Product #1 - Headbands

Right now, as I speak, no wait type, my parents and oldest sister are at the Rangers PLAYOFF game. My bro-in-law is there too, but he happens to be busy. This is an exciting time for these boys. I wish I could be there, but I'm watching via the television!

Anyway, today I'm going to show a product that you can find at The Peach Room, our new business!
We are three dear friends who have a love for all things handmade. Click here to view our facebook page for more information and pictures OR e-mail us at thepeachroomhandmades@gmail.com.

Today is......headbands!

Here are just a few pictures of headbands I've done recently.

These are all great for infants, children, and adults.
They are perfect for holidays, photo shoots, special events, bridal party gifts, a day of running errands, etc.

Each one of my headbands are hand stitched and one-of-a-kind.

I will have some available for purchase and also LOVE taking custom orders. It allows me to make for you exactly what you're wanting.

I love doing the over-the-top-statement-making headbands. As well as the simplistic, neatly-put-together ones!

Come back over tomorrow and hopefully there will be something else for you to see! Have a wonderful Saturday evening all!

Canton

So as I mentioned earlier, I went to Canton this past weekend with my mom and one of my two older sisters (Andrea, we missed you terribly). It was an experience to say the least. I DIED! Three and a half times, at least! We were able to go look around saturday and part of sunday.

If you plan on going, be wise. Buy, rent, borrow from a friend, a cart. They have these special carts, specific for canton shopping. Now somehow my mom already had one so we lucked out! You might be saying to yourself, well I wouldn't need to do anything like that, sounds like something serious. Well, no. You see, if you didn't plan on buying out half of the stores, you can always put your small pet inside it to tote them around, as far too many people were doing. If you just buy a few things, you can place that inside your cart and still have enough room to safely keep your fried pickles or water or lemonade, as I did.

bottom line, a cart is not a bad idea. what is a bad idea, the motorized chair rentals. it's rude. don't do it. just walk.

Here are a few items I purchased that weekend. I was taking a few photos of some things for a facebook fan page (details soon to come) and had these items around so I thought I would show you some of what I bought. No worries, these jewelry stands will be put to good use. And the window already has.

Another canton suggestion-don't overestimate your physical abilities when purchasing rather large-scale items, or items that are almost bigger than you.

I bought two windows. we were 10.5 miles away from our car. we had been there for 7 hours. and I thought it would be easy peezy to just haul my newly purchased windows with one in each hand. I hope people thought I was an overly strong young lady because let me tell you, its a bad idea. My arms had the shakes until monday. not kidding.

Totally worth it.

Last suggestion- please don't go with the idea of eating in a supremely healthy manner. Its just not a good idea. Although your stomach will disagree with me, its easier to just liven up the weekend with good food that you normally wouldn't consume all on the same day.

I had fried pickles, baked potatoes, fries, two dipped ice cream cones, one hamburger, mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings, one caramel apple, banana bread, and lemonade. I don't suggest eating all of that. But we're all still in one piece.

And my mom ended the weekend with a semi purplish-dark plum eye. That is a story in itself, that I would have to have permission to speak about. But the weekend was a nice little girly trip, and one that was needed, at least for me because quality time like that is limited and always taken for granted.

THIS was my most favorite thing I bought that weekend.
I found it at the very first booth area within the first 2.5 minutes we were there.
It, too, will be put to good use!

Hello October!

Good afternoon to you! I've added a few more of my FAV blogs on my 'blog love' list over to your right. And I added of couple of new things, like the music. Is it too much? Should it stay or should it go?

Anyway, it is October!!! Our windows are open, it feels amazing outside. It smells just like my grandparents house and I love that!

Today, it is time for me to recap my september goals and add or continue some for my october to-do. As I mentioned before, I like expressing them through my blog. Don't feel pressured to read through it, you do as you please. Whatever floats your boat.

There are, however, some secret new things within the mix!

RECAP-September

And now its time for - October

Everything is a work in progress. And if you actually faithfully read through all of that, you are wonderful. Pat on the back to you. A round of applause. I need a sonic drink. pronto. can you tell, I'm being a little ridiculous.

I will miss you. For the next 48 hours or so. Maybe not too much because Canton is calling my name and I will be completely in awe.

Have a wonderful, first day of october, fall-ish friday! love!
